R.E.A.P. Entrepreneurship Project (R.E.A.P. III)

The Empowering Women to: Realize, Embrace, Achieve their Purpose (R.E.A.P.) through Entrepreneurship Training and Support (R.E.A.P. Entrepreneurship) is an initiative of YWOP/YMOP and funded by the Canada Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI) Grant. This project provided entrepreneurship and business management training, business coaching, mentoring and assisted with the acquisition of equipment and tools needed to start or grow the businesses of the twenty (20) young women from Central Jamaica since December 2018. The main aim of the project was to help these women to overcome their obstacles and challenges by equipping them with the necessary skills to start or formalize their businesses, be economically empowered and become agents of change within their families and communities. The project culminated with the REAP Youth Entrepreneurship Conference which was held to inspire young people to take action to start or grow their businesses, by creating an environment where they can hear the stories of, learn from and share with successful entrepreneurs and access resources to help them to start/grow their businesses. Approximately 200 individuals participated in the conference and the speakers included US-based International Speaker, Kevin Langley, President of Entrepreneurs Across Borders and several local successful young entrepreneurs from Jamaica.
